Effective January 1, 2020, the City of LA requires street vendors to be permitted through the Bureau of Street Services. To get your permit is a 3-step process.
1. Apply for a Business Tax Registration Certificate from the City of LA Finance office.
2. Apply for a Seller's Permit from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration
3. Make an appointment with the Bureau of Streets Services by calling 1.800.996.2489. On the day of your appointment, take your BRTC and Seller's Permit, along with a picture ID, to the BSS at 1149 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90015.
4. The BSS will process your application and issue your vendor permit/ID the same day. "It's That Easy To Start Selling Legally"
